Connector is chosen for MicroTCA
The Minipak HD has been selected as the power supply output connector for the MicroTCA standard.
The connector delivers current density exceeding 170A/in2 and is designed to meet the output requirements of the power entry module for the MicroTCA standard.
"Tyco Electronics' Minipak HD connectors feature a popular hot-pluggable contact design to minimise contact damage during live mating and unmating cycles", comments Mike Blanchfield, Global Product Manager for Minipak HD connectors.
The Minipak HD connector uses a flat-rock seating design for the compliant press-fit vertical receptacle.
The mating right angle plug has solder tails designed to accommodate PCBs from 1.6 to 2.4mm thick.
Minipak HD connectors are RoHS compliant.
Prices for 1000 piece quantities of the right angle plug and vertical receptacle are US $9.76 and $7.61, respectively.
