Connectors meet MicroTCA standards
Tyco Electronics has announced the new Minipak HD connector designed to carry high density power and signal as required in the developing MicroTCA standard.
Using a power contact design proven for years in the telecommunications industry, the connector delivers current density exceeding 200A/in2, and is designed to meet Telcordia requirements for long term reliability.
"Tyco Electronics' Minipak HD connectors feature a multipoint contact interface and a hot-pluggable contact design to minimise contact damage during live mating and unmating cycles", comments Mike Blanchfield, Global Product Manager for Minipak HD Connectors.
The Minipak HD connector is available in a compliant press-fit vertical receptacle and a right angle plug.
The right angle plug is available with press-fit or solder tails designed to accommodate PCBs from 1.6 to 2.4mm thick.
Tyco Electronics' Minipak HD connectors are RoHS compliant.
Prices for 1000-piece quantities of the right angle plug and vertical receptacle are US $7.56 and $7.55, respectively.
