Termination system is maintenance free
Tyco Electronics has introduced the HVT-Z high voltage termination system
The HVT-Z termination system features a new, co-extruded one-piece termination which includes a nontracking tube and a co-extruded stress control grading layer. The stress control grading layer uses ceramic semiconductor technology (ZnO) and provides effective discharge and impulse performance.

The heat-shrinkable tubing conforms to the many varying surfaces of the termination and provides moisture sealing and stress control.
Several configurations are available in three voltage categories (5-8, 15 and 25-35kV).
The HVT-Z termination system is designed for use in highly polluted environments and withstands the long-term electrical stresses found in high voltage termination applications.
Additionally, the HVT-Z termination system is maintenance free and maintains a high level performance even when surface pollution is present.
HVT-Z terminations can be installed in upright or inverted configurations and can be bent to conform with the same bending radius as the cable they are connected to.
Furthermore, the slim, lightweight design allows direct installation to fuse cutouts and other devices; eliminating the need for costly and labour intensive supporting brackets.
This product is fully qualified per IEEE48, Class I terminations.
