Second-generation busbar connector uses a new one-piece contact that reduces the cost compared with the two-piece contact used in the original design.

Tyco Electronics has enhanced its Crown Clip busbar connector.

The Crown Clip II product is rated at up to 300A when connected to a busbar, and provides features such as true hot-pluggability and a float mount design to ease the busbar insertion forces.

This connector is designed to accept a standard 2.54 x 3.18mm laminated or solid busbar or printed circuit board tab.

The Crown Clip II connector uses a new one-piece contact that reduces the cost compared with the two-piece contact used in the original Crown Clip product.

The Crown Clip II connector expands the original Crown Clip product line to include low-force float-mount busbar mating, the Dual Crown Clip connector for low-force feed-through connections and now the Crown Clip II one-piece contact design product.

Samples of all three Crown Clip products are readily available, and the Crown Clip II product is priced at US $3.25 in 1000-piece quantities.
