UPS systems provide budget protection
Uninterruptible Power Supplies Limited launches an addition to its highly respected PowerWave range of UPS.
Based on a well-established concept in expandable power support for smaller critical systems, Minipower Plus provides output powers in incremental steps from 1250VA to 10kVA for computer, telecommunications, process control, telemetry and instrumentation applications.
The PowerWave advanced paralleling architecture offers many benefits, including simple expandability and cost-effective implementation of N+1 redundancy for increased system reliability and availability.
The modularity of the system also allows very long battery autonomies, ideally suited to telecommunications support, as well as hot-swapability for easy maintenance.

Transformerless UPS range extends to 300kVA
The latest addition to the Maxipower 5000 UPS range delivers 300kVA from a lightweight cabinet with a footprint of only 0.9m2.
Running costs are reduced through high efficiency, near-unity input power factor, and exceptionally low input current total harmonic distortion of less than 3% THDi.
Also new in the Minipower Plus is an updated cabinet in line with the modern computer room look.
An improved user interface replaces the previous LED indicators with four-line LCDs, providing easy programming and a wealth of status and diagnostics information including battery autonomy, charge status and a history event log.
Minipower Plus is based on 1.25kVA single-phase, double-conversion online UPS boards, which can be plugged into tower or 19in rack-mount cabinets - from a single board up to the maximum number of slots in the selected configuration.
The new UPS series is available in three models: four- and eight-slot tower configurations with maximum power outputs up to 5 and 10kVA, respectively, and a 19in rack-mountable four-slot configuration with a maximum power output of 5kVA.
Within any configuration, boards can be connected for capacity or N+1 redundancy operation.
Tower systems come in compact units measuring only 270 x 475 x 570mm.
Depending on configuration and required autonomy, batteries can be housed either within the tower or in a separate cabinet.
Autonomy is flexible, with full-load battery standby times up to eight hours, rapid recharge and built-in battery redundancy.
Rack-mount units are ideally suited to protection of industrial and medical applications, and also star networks, where they ensure availability of communications devices such as routers, hubs switches and modems.
In rack-mount applications, Minipower Plus offers significant savings in space and costs, as well as a range of features including an automatic bypass, a patented battery test function, load/temperature-dependent fan speed, and an RS232 port allowing use of diagnostic or autoshutdown software.
Uninterruptible Power Supplies offers a full range of accessories for the Minipower Plus UPS, including expansion hardware, manual bypass, remote control, enhanced battery charger for longer autonomies, relay interface, UPS Link diagnostic software, and UPS management software.
