The new Wolseley UK Technology Centre is equipped with two PowerWave 9000 triple cabinets, each fitted with two 30kVA modules, to provide 90kVA with n+1 redundancy plus two spare ways.

The PowerWave9000DPA represents another important advance in UPS technology, with significant enhancements to the decentralised parallel architecture.

Now based near London Bridge, Clarksons has installed a Powerwave 9000 modular UPS housing three 30kVA units to support its IT and communications main equipment room.
"We chose the Powerwave 9000 to give us 60kVA output with n+1 redundancy on the smallest possible footprint, and to ensure the highest availability of systems which are in demand 24 hours a day".
"In addition, because there was clearly no point in protecting these key items of equipment with a highly resilient solution if we then allowed brokers' computers and phones to go down in the event of a power cut, we've supported this higher load with a 200kVA Powerwave 5000 UPS".
"We also asked Uninterruptible Power Supplies to liaise with the generator supplier, giving us the benefit of a single-source package with the assurance of a well-designed interface between the UPS and generator for added resilience".
Two 800kVA generators are located on the roof of the building to provide redundancy of backup power.
The installation project involved removing an old generator from the roof and disposing of it, as well as providing a temporary generator to provide standby power until the new system was commissioned.
