New from Universal Instruments, the 4797S HSP high-speed placement machine is the company's newest solution for high-volume, turret-style chip shooting.
Universal Instruments' mid-range product offering will be built on the company's renowned surface mount platform, which provides exceptional speed, accuracy, and flexibility.
According to Saxton, "Universal's GSM platform serves the high-end flexible, fine pitch market well.
However, just as consumers often choose a mid-range offering when buying an automobile, so too do electronics manufacturers want electronic assembly machines that provide the robustness, reliability, and accuracy of our GSM platform, but in a scaled back version at a lower cost.
Our new mid-range product will meet that need." Saxton joined Universal Instruments in 1999 and has held several positions within the company.
Before joining Universal, Saxton held several positions with Lockheed-Martin, most recently serving as a process engineer at Lockheed-Martin's Center of Excellence for Electronics Assembly in Florida.
He holds both a bachelor's degree and master's degree in industrial engineering from Rutgers University.
