More than 150 professionals from 50 different companies throughout Germany, the UK, Belgium and Denmark recently attended the second Universal Instruments/Asys Technology Day, held in Dornstadt, Germany.

Delegates took the opportunity to discuss some of the company's latest equipment, including the new Polaris multiprocess assembly cell, with key technical staff.

The event was structured around several informal tech talk presentations both from key Universal Instruments staff and from technical management personnel from well-respected customers, such as Asys, Siemens and Viscom.

Content focused on the key features and benefits of Universal's products together with unique one-on-one expertise and customer stories on a variety of different applications expertise and issues.

Live demonstrations of the technologies in question also took place on the assembly lines.

The Polaris multiprocess assembly cell (MPA) and the Polaris odd form assembly cell (OFA) were both received particularly well, attracting much interest.

Delegates were impressed by the MPA's general functionality and its ability to combine three processes into one machine, while the OFA's versatility, flexibility and capability to assemble virtually any component was a big talking point.
