In response to the rapid growth of the electronics industry in Asia, Universal has developed the Technology Excellence Centre in Suzhou, China.
These two labs will provide Universal's customers global access to advanced process expertise and the latest surface mount equipment.
Over the last 20 years, Asymtek has grown to become a world leader in automated fluid dispensing systems.
The Millennium 2020 is the advanced semiconductor packaging (ASPA) version of Asymtek's M-2000 series dispensing machines.
Typical applications include dam and fill using a dual valve bracket, and underfill.
The Millennium dispensers are high-performance machines capable of 50,000 dots per hour and are in production at some of the largest PCBA and semiconductor packaging houses in the industry.
"We are excited to have Asymtek join us in our lab in Suzhou.
This is another example of our dedication to providing a world-class laboratory in Asia", says Richard Boulanger, Vice President of Universal's Advanced Semiconductor Assembly division.
"The unit we are placing in Universal's Suzhou facility is a dual-purpose lab machine that can be configured for either PCBA or ASPA application", says Glen Gibbs, General Manager of Asymtek in Asia Pacific.
He adds, "We are confident that the precision and speed of our dispenser will complement the other best-in-class equipment featured in Universal's Suzhou Lab".
