New from Universal Instruments, the 4797S HSP high-speed placement machine is the company's newest solution for high-volume, turret-style chip shooting.
Under this agreement Aegis will use standard interfaces in Universal Instruments manufacturing automation software suite to allow data retrieval by Aegis monitoring software.
Aegis has already developed an interpreter for Universal's DMM database structure providing translation into IPC-standard "CAMX" data.
This combined solution, which comprises Universal's Line Communicator software system with the Aegis xLink CAMX transmitter, has been tested and verified for all Universal surface mount products including GSM UPS+ (Windows based system), GSM UPS (OS/2 based system), and HSP (4796 and 4797).
The combined package offers Aegis end users a single solution to monitor real-time data from Universal surface mount lines, and leverage this information with Aegis web-based product tracking, component traceability, quality and SPC solutions.
In the future, integration with Universal's programming tools will simplify the access to Universal machines from Aegis programming tools.
Aegis NPI tools will interface seamlessly with Universal Instruments' GSM platform products and the HSP chipshooter range.
