Universal has announced that its facility in Budapest, Hungary will now be the European headquarters, a move that reflects the changing geographic spread of the company's customer base within the European region and one that provides distinct logistical advantages.
In addition, offices are being relocated in the South of England and in Brittany, France closer to customers and fast transportation links.
The Budapest operation includes full sales demonstration, training and technical support facilities, as well as finance functions and the order centre for European spare parts.
Universal Instruments' offices in Barcelona, Spain, Milan, Italy and Bad Vilbel, Germany all remain, with the latter also acting as one of the corporation's three primary global holding hubs for equipment spares and consumables inventory.
Brad Bennett, Director of European Operations, says: "We are continuously working to move closer to our customers in every part of the territory".
"From a logistics perspective alone, this simple expedient improves our service response".
"To that end, our offices in Hungary, Germany, UK, France, Italy and Spain remain strategic locations for us but are being augmented by an expanding network of distributors who provide local presence and coverage for Universal in most other countries across mainland Europe and the Nordic region".
