Universal Instruments has appointed Madrid-based Asflex Internacional to support its sales operations in Spain The move is part of the corporation's stated goal of augmenting its own sales force in all key European territories in order to strengthen its customer-focused infrastructure

Asflex will handle the corporation's AdVantis midrange and Genesis flagship surface mount placement platforms.

Founded in 1973, Asflex is a key player in the Spanish electronics manufacturing arena supporting over 300 EMS and OEM customers in the automotive, telecomms, consumer, industrial and defence markets.

The company already represents principals in the screen-printing, production materials and optical inspection sectors.

"Spain boasts some prime high technology manufacturing markets, with notable growth being exhibited in the automotive and consumer sectors", points out Brad Bennett, Universal Instruments' Director of European Operations.

"We will be working closely with Asflex to deliver extra value to our increasing customer base in the region".

With the complementary equipment products distributed by Asflex coupled with the company's contacts in the Spanish markets, Bennett predicts early success for the new distribution partnership, especially with Universal Instruments' acclaimed AdVantis product range.

"AdVantis delivers top value through its exceptional flexibility and one of the lowest costs of entry into the mid-range placement market".

"I believe this is an ideal platform for many manufacturers in Spain looking to capitalise on growth in their market sectors", Bennett claims.
