Rack mounting power supply shelf just 1U high
A new 1U (44mm high) Distributed Power Shelf fully loaded provides 1200W non-redundant or 800W 2+1 redundant at 24/28/48VDC for driving onboard convertors as the front end of a distribution system
Just announced by Unipower Europe is a new 1U (44mm high) Distributed Power Shelf which, fully-loaded, provides 1200 watts non-redundant or 800 watts 2+1 redundant at 24, 28 or 48V DC for driving onboard converters as the front end of a distributed power system.
The new 1U 19in rack-mounting shelf has three independent rear mounted IEC AC inlet sockets feeding each of the hot-swap power modules.
The DC output of the three modules is combined through an integrated printed circuit bus and is then split to six independent output sockets, each of which is fused and has an LED for status indication.
Control and supervisory functions are provided through a single rear-mounted D-type connector.
The output sockets may be optionally supplied with a fitted plug which provides screw terminal connections for field wiring.
Three hot-swap modules are available for use in the new power shelf each rated at 400 watts.
They are: TMF5000 (24V, 16.7A), TMF6000 (28V, 14.3A), and the TMF7000 (48V, 8.3A).
They incorporate high reliability hot-swap connectors and are cooled by two fans.
Each module has a handle to make insertion and withdrawal easy and a locking latch holds the module securely on the shelf.
The TMF modules feature input power factor correction to meet EN61000-3-2, a universal mains input range of 85-264V AC, Class B input EMI filter, integral isolation diodes, single-wire current sharing between modules, and a 5V DC at 100mA independent supervisory output.
The output voltage has a +5% adjustment range and total output regulation is +2% maximum.
Control and supervisory functions include AC power fail and DC power good output signals and remote inhibit input.
These functions are all available at the rear of the new power shelf.
Each module has a front panel green LED DC power-good indicator and, optionally, an on/off switch.
