"Instant" custom supplies deliver up to 800W
The PCL/TPCL Series of quick set PowerCassette supplies are "instant" custom units, with outputs quickly factory set to a customer's requirement by means of miniature, internal switches.
Unipower's new PCL/TPCL Series of quick set PowerCassette supplies are "instant" custom units, with outputs quickly factory set to a customer's requirement by means of miniature, internal switches.
The series has up to two high-current outputs (dual main) and up to three lower-current outputs plus a 5V, 250mA standby output.
Outputs may be chosen from 1.8, 2.5, 3.3, 5 and 12V DC.
By this means, Unipower can provide next-day delivery of 254 different combinations of outputs to instantly satisfy a customer's requirements.
The series produces up to 800W total output and comes as either a hot-swap or chassis-mount version.
Power density is up to 5.9W/in3.
The PCL/TPCL quick set PowerCassette incorporates internal cooling fans and has a single, pluggable connector.
Other features of this series include input voltage range of 85-264V AC, power factor correction, single-wire current sharing, output ORing diodes, remote sensing, adjustable output voltages, no-load operation, overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection, and front-panel LED status indicators.
Input and output monitoring features are also incorporated for integration with the customer's system.
The "Quick Set" switch programming at the factory means that prototype units are exactly the same as units delivered in volume, both in the same compact case that is only 1.5U high.
This instant "custom" feature is the result of an advanced, patented design concept employing a "cellular architecture" with four standard, internal cells which are programmed by the miniature switches.
The PowerCassette is covered by patents issued and pending.
