1U power system racks up redundancy for
telecomms

The TPCMR1U power rack features three 800W, hot-swap power modules in a slim, 1U-high 19in rack.

Unipower's new 2400W, front-end power system features three 800W, hot-swap power modules in a slim, 1U-high 19in rack The back panel has all input and output connections, including separate AC inputs for each module, copper output busbars and a 25-pin subminiature D connector for control signals

The system is only 11.56in deep, for use in ETSI cabinetry with maximum depth of 12in.

The power system is designed for use in telecomms systems, network equipment and other applications that use a 48 or 24V DC power bus; a 12V DC output version is also available.

The TPCMR1U power rack holds three hot-swap, parallel-connected TPCM Series power modules which produce 48V DC at 50A (2400W), 24V DC at 87.5A (2100W) or 12V DC at 150A (1800W) in the nonredundant mode.

Operating in the 2+1 redundant mode, the system produces 48V DC at 33.3A (1600W), 24V DC at 58.3 (1400W) or 12V DC at 100A (1200W).

Other features of the 2400W front end include universal input voltage range of 85-264V AC, input power factor correction, remote sensing, a +5V DC, 250mA standby output, and integral LED status indicators.

The system meets the Class B conducted EMI standard.

Monitoring and control signals brought out include AC power fail, DC power good, overtemperature warning, current monitor, current share and module present.

There is an optional I2C serial databus output which permits monitoring parameters on demand by a host system.
