Unipower Europe has two new series of ultracompact 1 x 2U front-ends and rectifiers.

Unipower Europe has two new series of ultracompact 1 x 2U front-ends and rectifiers.

The RSG Series are rectifier versions and the SG/TSG Series are front-ends in either hot-swap or chassis mount cases.

The module cases are 1U (40.6mm) high by 2U (83.8mm) wide by 279mm deep.

Output voltages are 48 or 54.4V DC at 550W, 24 or 27.2V DC at 500W or 12 or 13.6V DC at 450W.

The hot-swap versions have an available 1U-high rack/shelf that holds up to four units, producing up to 2200W total power.

The units may be operated in a 3+1 redundant mode in the rack/shelf, producing up to 1650W output.

A unique capability of this innovative rack system is that it permits dual A/B operation for both AC inputs and DC outputs if desired.

This results in up to 1100W output for each half of the rack.

Output ORing diodes in the modules result in glitch-free, hot-swap operation to provide continuous power to the load.

Other operating features include universal 85 to 264V AC input voltage range, power factor correction and a Class B EMI filter.

The units have an auxiliary +5V DC, 100mA output, an integral LED status indicator, active current sharing and no minimum load requirement.

Control and monitoring features include enable/inhibit inputs; AC power fail, DC power good and over-temperature logic outputs and an analogue current monitor output.

An optional IC serial data output is available for monitoring operating functions.

Protection features include overload, overvoltage and overtemperature protection.
