New from UR (Ultimate Renaissance), EOS V-series switching power supplies pack up to 40W into a lightweight, open-frame unit occupying surface area similar to a regular business card.

New from Swindon based design specialist UR (Ultimate Renaissance), EOS V-series switching power supplies pack up to 40W into a lightweight, open-frame unit occupying surface area similar to a regular business card The 40W VLT40 series and 25W VLT25 series PSUs measure just 50.8 x 101.6 x 25.4mm, each delivering the highest power density in its class and over 80% efficiency in a unit weighing 170g

The range includes a comprehensive selection of single-output and 3-output versions, allowing designers to satisfy a wide range of system requirements including mixed 3.3 and 5.0V technologies.

Triple-output options also include +/-15, +/-12 and 24V, making lightweight, space-and-energy efficient DC power available to telecommunications, data networking, computing, point of sale and many other applications.

Portable equipment, especially, will benefit from the arrival of EOS V-series, developed by EOS Corporation of Camarillo, California.

The convection cooled units have demonstrated MTBF exceeding 100,000 hours, and meet world-wide safety standards including IEC950, EN60950, UL 1950 Class 1 and SELV.

EMI/RFI compliance includes CISPR 55024 and 55014 Class B, and FCC Part 15 Class B.

CE approval includes full compliance with LVD and EMC directives.

Output over current and short circuit protection is built in, with input auto-select for adjustment to nominal 110 or 240V AC local mains supply also provided.

The VLT25 and VLT40 series PSUs offer high output stability; load regulation is 0.5% on V1 and 5% on V2/V3 from minimum to maximum load, while maximum ripple and noise is 1% of V nominal.

Hold-up time is 6ms at full load, measured at 115V input.

The units' operating temperature range, 0 to 50C at full rated output, ensures reliability in many commercial and consumer applications.
