UR acquires Astec's custom power
facility
Ultimate Renaissance (UR) has acquired Astec Standard Power's MVP configuration facility in Merryhill, West Midlands for Eur 200,000.

By offering this service locally, UR can deliver a low cost configurable power supply, with reduced time to market and global approvals such as UL, CSA, IEC, VDE, and CE.
The Astec MVP series is a versatile modular power solution with millions of different configurations available from 400 to 1200W, up to 10 outputs and any output voltage from 1.8 to 66V.
This flexibility allows the customer to specify the exact voltages and number of outputs required and makes the MVP range ideal for all applications including industrial, instrumentation, telecomms and broadcast equipment.
Commenting on the deal, Joe Matano, UR's UK Managing Director said, "As a key partner to Astec in Europe, it was a unique opportunity to further our relationship by taking over this facility.
With shipments of over 9000 units from this facility last year, we recognise the tremendous potential that this venture offers and it means that we can continue to offer to both existing and potential customers the MVP Series throughout Europe with extremely short lead times".
UR has recently been awarded full UL/ISO9001:2000 approval for design, manufacturing, sales and distribution.
