A new 1U-height 85W switching power supply brings high-end features such as power fail, overvoltage protection and remote sense on outputs 1 and 2 There is also inrush current limiting circuitry, as well as active power factor correction for compliance with EN61000-3-2 requirements for input current harmonic content

The Astec LPT81 is a three-output switcher capable of delivering up to 13A through each of its two main outputs.

These outputs are also user-adjustable from 1.8 to 3.5 and 3.3 to 5.5V, respectively.

A third output delivers +12V at 1A.

The power unit is capable of operating from any AC mains input voltage from 85 to 265V, from 47 to 400Hz, making it suitable for use in a wide range of regional territories and industrial environments.

Measuring just 76 x 127 x 32mm, the LPT81 achieves power density of 4.5W/in3, and serves the needs of network, telecomms, manufacturing and industrial equipment designers who need to pack high power capabilities into compact enclosures, and work under intense cost pressure.

Demonstrated MTBF is more than 550kh, which puts the LPT81 among the most reliable units available at this power level.

A power fail output signal is also provided.

The LPT81 power supply complies with the major worldwide safety and performance standards and has UL, CSA, CE, CB, Nemko and VDE approval markings.

Designed to meet FCC Class B and CISPR22 Level B conducted emissions, the LPT81 also meets most industry standard noise and immunity requirements when properly mounted and grounded within an approved chassis.
