The Astec NTS Series family of 350W bulk AC/DC switching power supplies includes new 24V output configurations and is available with convection cooling or optional forced-air.

UR Group is expanding its range of low- to mid-power solutions with the introduction of the Astec NTS 350 series from Emerson Network Power.

The Astec NTS Series family of 350W bulk AC/DC switching power supplies includes new 24V output configurations and is available with convection cooling or optional forced-air.

The new NTS355 models feature a compact 102 x 178mm footprint to achieve a high 8.3W/in power density.

The fan-cooled option supplies the full rated output up to 50C with 14 litre/s forced air, and the units can be set up for lengthwise or crosswise airflow for added flexibility.

Operating at 85% efficiency, the devices incorporate active power factor correction to minimise input harmonic distortion; the switchers also accept input from 85-264V AC or 120-320V DC.

The units are suited for use as AC/DC front ends for DC/DC convertors and can be used in a wide variety of applications, such as telecommunications, networking, test and measurement, single-board computers and gigabit Ethernet devices.

A built-in ORing diode eliminates the need for external circuitry when using the device in a redundant configuration.

All models in the Astec NTS350 Series incorporate built-in Class B EMI filtering, remote sense, remote inhibit and single-wire parallel on the primary output that enables current-sharing to balance loads.

The units also include a 12V/1A auxiliary output and 5V/2A standby output as well as overload, overvoltage and thermal protection.

With an operating temperature range from 0 to 50C without derating, the units can function up to 70C by derating the output 2.5%/C.

They are fully compliant with IEC EN61000-3-2 harmonic and IEC EN61000-4-x susceptibility standards.
