Experts line up for high-speed panel session
The Continuing Professional Development Centre hosts this summer's High-Speed Digital Engineering Week from 27th to 30th June 2006 in Oxford.
The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Centre hosts this summer's High-Speed Digital Engineering Week from 27th to 30th June 2006 in Oxford, offering design engineers the opportunity to meet and interact with the world's foremost authorities on high-speed digital engineering.
During this week, the CPD Centre offers seven courses delivered by leading specialists from the cutting-edge field of high-speed digital electronics, all of whom have been selected for their expertise, experience, and world-class stature.
To close the week, organisers are for the second year, adding an expert panel session to allow course delegates the chance to pose their design problems and questions to Oxford's speed junkies.
Dr Howard Johnson, author of "High-speed digital design: a handbook of black magic and high-speed signal propagation", featured signal integrity columnist for EDN Magazine, Chief Technical Editor of IEEE802.3 standards for Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet, and veteran with more than 30 years of experience in digital design, says: "I can't think of any place else in the world somebody could go to get direct access to this amount of high-speed digital engineering knowledge and experience".
"This event is unique in the world of electronics design".
Other panelists include Dr Bruce Archambeault, Senior Member of Technical Staff and a Lead EMC Engineer at IBM, author of "Printed circuit board design for real-world EMI control", member of the Board of Directors, as well as a distinguished lecturer for the IEEE EMC Society, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES).
Lee Hill is Founding Partner of Silent Solutions (USA), member of the IEEE EMC Society Board of Directors, Chair of the Society's Distinguished Lecturer Program, consults and teaches worldwide, and is an electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) engineer with over 15 years of industry experience in the design and retrofit of complex electronic systems.
Douglas Smith is author of "High frequency measurements and noise in electronic circuits", Senior Member of the IEEE, former member of the IEEE EMC Society Board of Directors, retired member of Technical Staff (Distinguished) at Bell Laboratories after 26 years, and currently an independent consultant specialising in high frequency measurements, circuit/system design and verification, switching power supply noise and specifications, EMC and immunity to transient noise.
Last year's discussion subjects included the management of 10Gbit/s signals, decoupling capacitors, PCB flooding and safe ESD events simulation.
