Defence sector to lead ruggedised
computing growth
North American and Western European market demand for ruggedised/industrial computer systems is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.4% between 2003 and 2006, according to a recent report.
North American and Western European market demand for ruggedised/industrial computer systems is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.4% between 2003 and 2006, according to a recent report by Venture Development Corp The report, entitled "North American and Western European market demand for ruggedised/industrial computer systems", predicts increases in all sectors, with: defence and aerospace increasing from $635 million to $735 million; industrial automation, control and instrumentation rising from $484 million to $537 million; communications up from $341 million to $389 million; medical, laboratory and scientific increasing from $97 million to $110 million; and energy, utilities and transportation infrastructure rising from $91 million in 2003 to $102 million in 2006
