Vicor has introduced a novel interconnect scheme.
They can accommodate a broad range of standard board thicknesses - boards as thin as 1.4mm (0.055in) or as thick as 3.5mm (0.138in) - to cover most through-hole requirements.
The InMate system consists of the sockets mounted on a moulded plastic carrier that acts as a soldering fixture and ensures accurate positioning of the sockets in the board.
The InMate socketing system is the newest member of the growing family of ModuMate interconnect products for Vicor's full-, half- and quarter-brick modules.
Sockets offer many advantages over other mounting techniques.
Manufacturing and maintenance drawbacks resulting from soldering the converter directly to the PCB, for example, are eliminated.
Boards may be fully populated and the modules added as a final assembly step.
Vicor's comprehensive line of power solutions includes modular, high-density DC/DC convertors and accessory components, configurable power supplies, and custom power systems.
