Vicor's new 24V-input family of 2nd-generation high-power-density DC/DC convertors is now complete.

Vicor's new 24V-input family of 2nd-generation high-power-density DC/DC convertors is now complete.

Design of the final 11 modules - joining the 13 released earlier - was accomplished using Vicor's module design centre - VDAC (Vicor Design Assistance Computer).

These modules are designed for communications, process control, defence, and distributed power systems applications.

All the convertors operate from 24V nominal input (with an input range of 18 to 36V) and have power densities up to 79W/in3.

The 24V input family of DC/DC convertors is in compliance with most agency approval specifications including UL, CSA, TUV, BABT, CE, and VDE.

These products are suitable for worldwide use in a variety of applications.

The 24V family comprises three package sizes (maxi, mini and micro) each offering output voltages of 2, 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24, 28 and 48V DC.

The family offers output powers from 50 to 400W.

All the modules incorporate the same advanced features as other 2nd-generation convertors, such as high temperature rating, wide output voltage trim range, and paralleling for higher power and N+M redundancy.
