Vicor subsidiary Mission Power Solutions has developed a low-profile, configurable AC/DC switching power supply packaged for rugged military applications.

Designated Badger, it enables designers using Vicor 2nd generation DC/DC convertors to meet the conducted emissions requirements of MIL-STD-461E, the transient requirements of MIL-STD-704E, and the environmental test requirements of MIL-STD-810.

It combines the advantages of power factor correction, high power density and user-selected isolated outputs.

Accepting input voltages from 85 to 264V AC or 100 to 380V DC, the Badger can provide up to 1500W in a package size of 64.8 x 177.8 x 349.25mm.

Specifically designed for the shock and vibration environments experienced in military applications, it can provide up to 12 isolated outputs and is factory configured to meet user requirements.
