Convertors handle 12 and 24V inputs

A Vicor UK product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Jan 31, 2008

Wide-input DC/DC convertors are suitable for use with battery systems, both in vehicles and in man-portable applications.

Vicor has added 24V input options on both its VI-J00 and VI-200 families of DC/DC convertors, making them ideal for battery systems in vehicles and man-portable applications.

With a wide input range of 10 to 36V, the modules are targeted for applications operating from 12 or 24V inputs.

The low-noise ZCS topology greatly reduces the design effort and filtering costs required for power convertors to meet agency conducted emissions requirements.

Both families offer 16 different output voltages ranging from 3.3 to 48V, with a maximum power of 75W for the VI-200 Series and 50W for the VI-J00.

Four different environmental grades are available from -10C (E grade) operating temperature to -55C (M grade).

Packaging options include a flangeless model (SlimMod), a flangeless model with an integral heatsink (FinMod), and a chassis mount housing with screw/lug wiring interface (BusMod).

The modules, which are optionally available in RoHS compliant models, are a compact 117 x 56 x 12.7mm for the VI-200 and 57.9 x 61.0 x 12.7mm for the VI-J00.
