Modest price to pay for viewer

A Vision Engineering product story

Vision Engineering has developed a new more cost effective generation of Mantis.

After 10 years and over 130,000 units sold worldwide, Mantis has proven to be a great success.

With that in mind and continuous demands on greater accuracy and stability, Vision Engineering has developed a new more cost effective generation of Mantis.

The newest generation of Mantis builds on the success of the original Mantis with all the performance, pin-sharp accuracy, superior ergonomics and large working distances.

It has also been developed using the latest technology with higher magnification, LED lighting and robust outer casing.

Mantis Compact is at the introductory end of the range and starts from as little as GBP 800; at such a modest price Mantis allows for greater flexibility in many different applications.

Mantis bridges the gap between the microscope and the bench magnifier, but it is the stereo ergonomic viewing that gives Mantis the advantage.

Vision Engineering's patented 'eyepieceless' technology allows the operator's eyes to sit around 30mm away from the viewing lens.

This is compared with a conventional microscope where operators are required to precisely align their eyes with the eyepieces.

Two light paths form within the viewing lens to deliver the user a sharp stereo image which allows a greater freedom of head movement.

This helps minimise fatigue and eyestrain that long term users of microscopes are at risk of, promoting better ergonomics leading to increased productivity where these usual problems that occur are minimised.

Another cost effective element of the new Mantis range is the new LED lighting, providing white light for up to 10kh, alleviating the operator of frequent replacement.
