Memory modules are designed with significant enhancements to the JEDEC standard, including registered functionality, reduced module height, advanced cooling features and densities up to 4Gbyte.
Virtium's industry-leading ECC registered SO-DIMM product line features SO-RDIMM and ECC unbuffered SO-CDIMM products.
Both series of products are designed to support next-generation telecomms platforms, such as Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (AdvancedTCA) and MicroTCA, emerging standard platforms for telecommunications equipment.
Virtium is the first industrial memory manufacturer to add error correction code (ECC) and registered functionality to the DDR2 SO-DIMM, creating new SO-RDIMM and SO-CDIMM standard memory products optimised for specific OEM applications requiring ECC capability.
The company has also taken the lead in an industry-wide initiative to standardise the DDR2 ECC SO-DIMM, leading the JEDEC taskforce to create specifications and design files to assure memory compatibility for solutions provided by the various memory vendors.
JEDEC has recently finalised pin-out for the ECC SO-DIMM which is expected to be standardised shortly.

Virtium's lead-free DDR2 VLP MINI-RDIMM and VLP UDIMM products are currently available at 1Gbyte densities and speed ranges up to PC2-6400 (DDR2) for both commercial and extended temperature ranges.
These products are geared not only for ATCA/MicroTCA, but also many other embedded single board computer (SBC) applications.
