Board family provides scalable video performance
Vitec Multimedia has released two new versions of its VMM family of multichannel capture and compression boards for industrial and professional video applications.
Vitec Multimedia has released two new versions of its VMM family of multichannel capture and compression boards for industrial and professional video applications like: video surveillance, digital video recording, live video streaming over IP and video servers.
The VMM family is a flexible and extensible hardware encoding solution and is available in four different versions: the VMM-2000 for MJPEG; the VMM-2100 for MJPEG and MPEG-1; the VMM-2200 for MJPEG, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2; and the VMM-2300 for MJPEG, MPEG-1 MPEG-2 and MPEG-4.
These PCI boards are fully autonomous and require very limited CPU power from the host computer.
They run under Windows 2000 and XP.
The VMM boards have multiple video and audio inputs, with up to 16 composite or eight S-video inputs, and four stereo RCA audio inputs.
Video resolutions from QCIF up to FD1 (NTSC 720 x 480 x 30 frame/s or 720 x 576 x 25 frame/s) are supported.
Advanced features include: The ability to capture still images while encoding; real-time preview video on the host screen; pause/resume; and 24/7 very long encoding.
The VMM family includes an easy and powerful software development kit in the Livewire framework for rapid integration.
