The online network, named Elfnet, acts as a lifeline to the electronics industry, providing support to companies, identifying high priority areas for industry collaboration, evaluating substitutes, and providing a link between regional networks including a European basis for a global initiative.
John Jeffrey, CEO, VBN said: "This is a fascinating project which aims to help the European electronics industry overcome the financial and technological consequences of the lead-free transitional period".
"We are providing a tool for collaboration which will allow dissemination to wide audiences using one, easy-to-use integrated system".
"With the ELFNET network in place, 2006 may eventually prove less threatening for both industrial and electronic manufacturers".
