The new Oracle III 200 battery-backed switch-mode power supply from VxI Power features a built-in RS232/RS485 interface with full Modbus functionality, allowing it to be controlled or monitored from a remote location As well as logging data on historical holdup events, the new PSU enables the user to monitor parameters such as system load or battery state and to remotely initiate battery test cycles

The power supply incorporates a two-stage charger with VxI's proprietary "power shift" software, which ensures that maximum power is delivered to the batteries so that they can be recharged in the shortest possible time.

Operating from an 85-264V AC autoranging input, the PSU is available in both 12 and 24V versions, providing one main output, one battery charge output and an optional auxiliary output rated at 5, 12 or 24V.

In addition, the standard convection-cooled 200W unit can be fitted with a temperature controlled fan to increase the power output to 300W.

Built-in protection circuitry guards against short-circuit overloads, reverse polarity, over- and undervoltages, battery disconnection and low battery conditions, while LEDs are provided for local monitoring of system status.

Compliant with the EN50081-1 and EN50082-2 standards for EMI emissions and immunity, the PSU is available in a variety of case styles, including panel mount, chassis mount, DIN rail mount, rack system and Eurocard module.

The Oracle III 200 power supply offers a diverse range of options and can be readily configured to satisfy customers' individual requirements.
