Supplies feature in Farnell catalogue
Farnell InOne has significantly expanded the range of power supplies it offers by including selected product lines from Lincoln-based manufacturer VxI Power in the latest edition of its catalogue.
Farnell InOne has significantly expanded the range of power supplies it offers by including selected product lines from Lincoln-based manufacturer VxI Power in the latest edition of its catalogue.
Set up last year by former employees of liquidated company Bulgin Power Source, VxI Power designs and manufactures battery-backed PSUs for low to medium power applications, as well as a range of encapsulated AC/DC linear power supplies.
A number of PSUs that were previously in the Farnell InOne catalogue under the Bulgin Power Source banner have now reappeared as VxI Power products, and these are supplemented by two new offerings that have been developed by VxI in the last 12 months.
The products making a reappearance are the Oracle 12V/170W battery-backed switch-mode PSU, which is designed to be used in conjunction with a single backup battery to provide standby power for low-power systems, and the EPS series encapsulated AC/DC linear power supplies - a comprehensive range of 1W and 5W PCB-mounting units offering either 120 or 230V AC inputs and single, dual or triple outputs.
VxI Power has continued to develop the Oracle range of battery-backed PSUs, and the first fruit of this work was the Oracle II-75 series.
Available in both 12 and 24V versions, this PSU fully complies with the performance, environmental, electrical-safety and EMC requirements of the EN54-4 standard for power supplies used in fire detection and alarm systems.
This product has recently been complemented by the Oracle II-45, which is a competitively priced 45W switch-mode PSU that is proving to be ideal for use as a battery charger in cost-sensitive fire-panel applications.
