Wadsworth and Blazepoint come together

Wadsworth Electronics and Blazepoint have amalgamated to form Wadsworth Technology Group.

Roger Wadsworth has announced the formation of the Wadsworth Technology Group, the amalgamation of Wadsworth Electronics with Blazepoint Both companies have been acquired by Wadsworth Rugged Systems

Blazepoint, based in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire, has been a wholly owned subsidiary of WRS since March 2003.

Blazepoint designs and manufactures rugged computers and related IT equipment, offering a range of products for the military and civil markets.

Blazepoint printers are currently deployed with the British forces as part of the Bowman programme.

Blazepoint has also recently completed the construction of EMC testing and development laboratories and offers a range of Tempest compliant computers and equipment for ultrasecure IT installations, together with an increasing range of computer controlled security equipment.

Wadsworth Electronics is a national distributor of computer network components, based in West Molesey, Surrey, processing around 4000 transactions per month and with a database of 15,000 customers.

Blazepoint has UK manufacturing capability and a network of business partners in Europe and the Far East and the new group will expand Wadsworth Electronics product range.

Discussions are currently underway with manufacturers of biometric security systems.

Roger Wadsworth is Executive Chairman and the majority shareholder of the new group, and his business partner Mike Elimer is Managing Director.
