WASP has developed an ultra-thin acryllic light guide which allows LEDs and filament bulbs to be used for membrane switch illumination.

Restricted by the thickness of the overall finished product required by OEMs, membrane switch illumination has been traditionally achieved by using layers of EL material between the membrane Not any more however, because WASP has developed an ultra-thin acryllic light guide which allows LED's and filament bulbs to be used

The use of LEDs and bulbs also removes the need for the higher voltages and frequencies required by EL lighting technologies.

WASP has achieved a thickness of just 1mm in the acryllic sheet which also provides both an even overall cast of light and the opportunity to control the levels of light required.
