Membranes come with their own LEDs

A Wasp product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Nov 20, 2001

Switch status on membrane control panels is normally indicated by a remote LED elsewhere in the unit.

Switch status on membrane control panels is normally indicated by a remote LED elsewhere in the unit.

This in itself creates an expensive extra, complicated even further when multiple switches need to be activated at the same time.

They display also invariably uses up much needed front panel space.

To overcome this, WASP has developed a switch-activated LED situated in the corner of the switch which illuminates when it is in the on position.

Available for use on any flexible membrane pad, WASP can either accomodate customers' designs and even change the LED window colours to suit the application requirements, or fit embedded LEDs into the flexible switch or fit more conventional LEDs into a rigid PCB backed membrane switch.

Whichever the option selected, the eventual user will be able work in complete confidence and safety by being able to see instantly which switches have been activated on the control panel.
