Webb Industries has been granted local distribution rights to Canadian-made Stirling F connectors for CATV and VSAT applications.

Webb Industries has been granted local distribution rights to Canadian-made Stirling F connectors for CATV and VSAT applications.

According to Webb's Fanie Viljoen the F connector is a very simple connector where the inner conductor of the coaxial cable is used as the centre pin.

"Stirling connectors have changed the image of the connector through developing a durable and robust product which is fitted with a specially designed compression tool making it literally impossible to pull the connector off the coaxial cable", explains Viljoen.

The preparation and assembly tools come in a kit that includes among others a compression tool and a cable-stripping tool.

Many leading VSAT managers say that the kit supplied by Webb has made a significant difference to the quality and the ease of connection in the VSAT and CATV industries.

Viljoen says that Webb will cater for three types of Stirling cables: the RG6/U; RG11/U and the RG59/U.

Webb Industries, which was established in 1973, is one of the largest suppliers of ancillary telecommunications equipment to the sub-Saharan region.

The company offers a comprehensive range of antennas, coaxial cable and connectors, duplexers and filters, earthing, lightning protection, fencing and the supply of masts and towers.

Webb's employees are engaged in production, marketing and administration from its factory in Sandton, where the emphasis is on quality assurance.

The company has the coveted ISO9001:2000 rating.
