High precision from HV thick-film
resistors

T Series resistors provide an extensive resistance range from 1Kohm to 50Gohm at 1% tolerance and a low TCR down to 25ppm/degC.

High-voltage power supplies in medical X-ray equipment rely on specialised application resistors to achieve precision measurement and control of the accelerating potential Design engineers working on high-voltage applications that require high-reliability measurements can benefit from a resistor family with a working voltage of up to 100kV

TT Electronics Welwyn Components is now offering the T Series which provides an extensive resistance range from 1kohm to 50Gohm at 1% tolerance and a low TCR down to 25ppm/degC.

There are three standard sizes with limiting element voltages in air of 4, 14 and 50kV and with corresponding power ratings of 1.5, 3.5 and 10W at 20C ambient.

The limiting element voltages are doubled when the resistor is immersed in oil or SF6 gas in order to reduce surface tracking.

They are rated for operation from -55 to +150C.

Flexibility in resistor voltage is provided by means of optional threaded terminations, which allow resistors to be screwed together to make a customised part.

Alternatively, for high-volume applications, custom resistors of intermediate length and voltage can be supplied.

Matched sets can also be supplied for use as precision voltage dividers, or to achieve tighter TCR values.

John Graham, Marketing and Sales Director of Welwyn Components, highlights that: "The manufacturing and test competence of TT Electronics Welwyn Components provides construction options and specific values for the customer's application".
