Bosch Rexroth has selected Wind River's VxWorks General Purpose Platform as the technology standard for its motion control devices.

Under the enterprise licensing agreement, the company will receive regular upgrades to the device software Platform, ensuring Bosch Rexroth continually has the most current technology available for its customers and their products.

"We needed an efficient, commercial off-the-shelf solution that wouldn't fail under pressure", said Dr Karl Tragl, Managing Director Technology, Electronic Drives and Controls at Bosch Rexroth.

"By building our motion control devices on Wind River's technology, we are confident that we are developing our products with the industry's most reliable platform.

We can now focus on developing the features and functionality that add increased value for our customers".

Rexroth IndraLogic and Rexroth IndraMotion are Bosch Rexroth's two new families of automation systems that provide easier, more open and flexible motion control devices in the industries Bosch Rexroth serves such as industrial automation, electronic assembly, material handling and automotive body and assembly.

By using Wind River's VxWorks General Purpose Platform, which includes Wind River's integrated development tools and professional services, Bosch Rexroth is able to ensure the reliability of its products and greatly accelerate its time to market.
