WiMax (802.16d) is the latest entry in the wireless networking technology space, poised to be a low-cost, high performance alternative to DSL, cable modem or other network access technologies.
Equipment can be installed on existing structures like buildings or poles, and has a range of up to 50km, at speeds up to 70Mbit/s.
Because Wind River is the only DSO vendor that provides all the necessary development components - real-time embedded operating system, device management, high performance router stack and middleware technologies - in one integrated and tested Platform for Network Equipment, Airspan is able to accelerate time to market and ensure reliability of its end product.
