This agreement illustrates Wind River's commitment to enable its customers to standardise the device software development process.
Aerospace manufacturers are increasingly challenged by complex, software- development environments, which can result in budget overages, missed market windows and failed products.
By selecting Wind River, EADS will standardise its device software development and focus on the features and functionality that differentiate its offerings from competitors.
Under Wind River's subscription-based business model, EADS can streamline its device development across the enterprise, freeing up time, money and resources.
"EADS has worked with Wind River on multiple projects where we required an efficient, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution that wouldn't fail under pressure", said Michel Gendron, Senior Purchasing Manager at MBDA, a subsidiary of EADS.
"By engaging with Wind River using their subscription based licensing model, we can leverage their technology across multiple projects, allowing us to increase development efficiencies while also providing our customers with superior products".
"The transition of EADS to our subscription based licensing model illustrates that device software is strategic to EADS' business", said Andreas Pabinger, Vice President EMEA for Wind River.
"Now, EADS can easily access additional Wind River technology year after year, and their developers can standardise their software development processes across the enterprise".
