"Being the first to achieve Posix PSE52 Real-Time Controller 1003.13-2003 certification is a significant milestone for Wind River, but even more so for our aerospace and defence customers, where conformance to the Posix 1003.13-2003 standard is generally more critical".
Wind River's commercial-grade technology enables aerospace and defence (A and D), network equipment and automotive device manufacturers to rapidly, efficiently and economically develop highly deterministic, standards-conformant applications certified for stringent levels of safety and security.
Posix, a family of standards developed by the Portable Applications Standards Committee (PASC) of the IEEE Computer Society, enables access to integrated information within and between enterprises based on open standards and global interoperability.
Typically, greater levels of Posix support enable code reuse and portability of third-party, open source applications to VxWorks and from VxWorks.
"We congratulate Wind River on being the first to achieve the PSE52 1003.13 real-time Controller certification for VxWorks 6.4", said Andrew Josey, Director of Certification for The Open Group.
"Achieving this certification is a significant achievement and clearly demonstrates Wind River's commitment to open standards in its device software optimisation platform solutions".
