WiBoost is a patent-pending technology that parallels Internet lines over public airwaves, giving amazing speed to DSL and cable users.

"Broadband currently serves millions, but with the evolution to richer content DSL and cable just can't deliver enough speed".

"Many Internet users are already getting as frustrated as they were with dial-up".

"It dawned on me that there was a huge reservoir of bandwidth available".

"As much as anyone would need, if we could tap into it", says James Baker from WiBoost.

DSL and cable reach over 50% of US homes.

This means that every DSL and cable customer has many neighbours with DSL or cable.

These Internet lines are sitting idle over 95% of the time.

WiBoost pools this unused bandwidth and routes it over the airwaves to the users.

In this way, each WiBoost device receives the bandwidth available from all of the nearby lines.

"With an enclosure the sise of a DSL router and a small outdoor antenna, WiBoost will boost speed for each user until as many as twenty lines are pooling bandwidth - allowing a near 20-fold speed increase", Baker added.

A variety of standards-based security methods keep data private and allow for automatic security patches.

WiBoost works with DSL, cable, and T-1 lines, but not dial up.

The WiBoost standard is being licensed to consumer electronics manufacturers who expect to have products available for the public in mid-late 2006.

The easy-to-install devices will be priced at approximately $200.
