alliance

Wolfson Microelectronics and Sanyo Semiconductor are entering into a strategic business alliance to develop and market mixed-signal products for automotive and consumer applications.

Wolfson Microelectronics and Sanyo Semiconductor are entering into a strategic business alliance to develop and market mixed-signal products for automotive and consumer applications To support the relationship Sanyo has taken a minority equity investment in Wolfson

The partnership includes both technical and commercial collaboration to exploit the key strengths of both companies, with the first mixed signal products resulting from the alliance becoming available from Q2 2002.

Sanyo will also support the marketing of Wolfson's products in Japanese and related markets.

"I see the collaboration with Sanyo leading to exciting opportunities for both companies", said David Milne, CEO, Wolfson Microelectronics.

He continued, "Working with one of Japan's premier technology companies will enable us to introduce advanced products tailored to meet the demands of world's leading consumer electronics companies".

Mr Tanaka, President of Sanyo Semiconductor, said of the collaboration, "MOS linear is one of the most critical technologies for advancement of system LSIs in the future.

Through this partnership we will aggressively accelerate development of competitive mixed signal products and further expand our business in the digital AV arena".
