More silverware for Wolfson
Wolfson Microelectronics was named "New company of the year" at the recent annual PricewaterhouseCoopers, PLC Awards in London.
Wolfson Microelectronics was named "New company of the year" at the recent annual PricewaterhouseCoopers, PLC Awards in London.
The award, sponsored by Arbuthnot Securities, according to the organiser, is given to a "future company of the year, but one that has too short a track record to be considered for that award".
The winner had to "have gone public in 2003" yet had already "demonstrated that it possesses both growth and management qualities" and had "in effect served notice to the investing community that there is a formidable growth public company in the making".
"Whilst there was a limited number of new issues in 2003, the voting panel were delighted to see an extremely high quality technology focused business as the ultimate winner of this important award", commented Nigel Hopes, PricewaterhouseCoopers Partner and Chairman of the PLC Awards Voting Panel.
"We have made great progress since the IPO in October of 2003, and our recent results are testament to the tremendous effort the whole team has displayed throughout the year", commented Jim Reid, Chief Technical Officer, Wolfson Microelectronics.
"It is an honour to receive this award on behalf of everyone at Wolfson who have continued to drive the business forward through this extremely exciting period".
The PLC Awards event was founded in 1987 to reward excellence in the smaller quoted companies sector.
The winners of each of the seven award categories are presented with their award at the annual PLC Awards Dinner, held in March.
