Director appointed to non-exec role
The Board of Wolfson Microelectronics has appointmented Robert Eckelmann as a non-executive director with immediate effect.

Rob brings 14 years senior level management experience in the information technology sector and is a former vice president of Intel Corporation, where he led its overseas expansion through the 1990s followed by its $35 billion brand portfolio, including the Intel Inside and Pentium brands.
Since leaving Intel in 2002, Rob has spent two years as non-executive chairman and director of several fast-growing European technology companies, ranging from communications equipment to microelectronic design tools.
Before joining Intel in 1988, Rob served six years at the International Trade Administration in the US Department of Commerce.
As Deputy Assistant Secretary, he was responsible for trade policy and spearheaded trade negotiations with many governments, including Japan, China, Korea, Singapore and the EU.
For much of the 1990s he was based in Singapore, with a brief to develop Intels businesses in key emerging markets in Asia Pacific, especially China, India, and Southeast Asia.
From 1998 to 2001, he served as Intels vice president and general manager for the ?10 billion annual turnover EMEA region.
His directorships have included: Non-executive Chairman, Norwood Systems , a UK mobile enterprise communications company; MDS, a French IT services and distribution business; and IXI Mobile, a US mobile consumer communications company.
