Wolfson Microelectronics has received two awards at the Scottish PLC awards dinner in Glasgow, hosted by Scottish Insider magazine and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The first was the Award for Innovation and the second named Wolfson as the best mid-sise Cap PLC of the year.

The judges, who included Tom Allison, CEO of Peel Ports and Keith Skeoch, CEO of Standard Life Investments, praised Wolfson for doing "a fantastic job given the highly competitive environment it operates in".

Following the awards ceremony David Milne, Wolfson CEO, commented: "I am honoured to receive these awards on behalf of everyone at Wolfson".

"Recognition from our peers in the wider business community is very positive in many intangible ways".

The PLC Awards event was founded in 1987 to reward excellence in the smaller quoted companies sector.

The winners of each of the award categories are presented with their award at the annual PLC Awards Dinner, held in March.
