Shanghai office increases Chinese support
To build on the company's rapid growth in China, Wolfson Microelectronics has opened a second Chinese office in Shanghai.
To build on the company's rapid growth in China, Wolfson Microelectronics has opened a second Chinese office in Shanghai.
The new office in Shanghai is positioned to capitalise on the growing number of indigenous designers and manufacturers in the region.
Commenting on the move, Vice-President of Marketing, Julian Hayes, said: "The Chinese market is evolving rapidly and the new office in Shanghai is positioned to provide the burgeoning base of wireless designers and manufacturers there with excellent applications and logistics support".
He continued: "We are seeing a large number of new companies in the area that are producing goods for both the domestic Chinese and international markets, especially in the cellular handset arena, for which Wolfson's new devices that bring hi-fi quality audio to mobile phones will be a natural target".
In FY 2004, over 88% of Wolfson's revenues came from the Asia Pacific region including China, Japan and Korea.
This latest addition gives Wolfson seven sales and engineering offices in the area, including Taipei, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Seoul and Singapore as well as Tokyo and Osaka in Japan.
The company also has a logistics hub located in Ipoh, Malaysia.
