Wolfson Microelectronics has won the Technology Innovation Award at the Techmark awards dinner 2005.
Andrew Bell, UK technology leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers commented: "What these awards provide is a forum to recognise the success of technology companies whether they are start-ups or established multinationals and it's an opportunity for fast-growth companies to compete on the same platform as global companies".
"The companies that won awards last night are at the forefront of the industry and achieving these results in such a competitive market is a credit to management and their business strategies".
Specifically, the award recognised Wolfson's success in developing a portfolio of over 80 innovative products, which have been designed into some of the world's leading digital consumer electronics products.
David Milne, Wolfson CEO, receiving the award, added: "We are honoured to receive this award".
"At Wolfson innovation is the life blood of our business and we are continually investing in and expanding our research and development teams".
"This award recognises their achievement in developing world class mixed-signal semiconductors".
Wolfson was nominated for a two further categories in the award, more than any other company that night.
The two other categories were Company of the Year, and Milne himself for Personality of the Year.
