For the second year running, Wolfson Microelectronics has received two awards at the prestigious Scottish plc Awards dinner in Glasgow, which is hosted by Scottish Business Insider and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

At the awards, Wolfson was presented with the PricewaterhouseCoopers and Scottish Business Insider Award for PLC of the Year, and David Milne was named Azzurri Communications Scotland PLC CEO of the Year.

The judges included Keith Skeoch, Chief Executive of Standard Life Investments, Hugh Aitken, Vice President of Worldwide Customer Fulfilment, Sun Microsystems, David Thorburn, Chief Operating Officer, Clydesdale Bank and Andrew Bolger, Scotland Correspondent of the Financial Times.

Accepting the awards on behalf of Wolfson Microelectronics and David Milne, George Elliott, Chief Financial Officer at Wolfson, commented: "These awards are proof that Wolfson can stand tall as one of the best Scottish companies".

"They recognise the incredible commitment and dedication of our team, both in Edinburgh and worldwide, and are a great inspiration to the Scottish technology sector as a whole".

The Scottish plc Awards were launched in 1999 by Scottish Business Insider and PricewaterhouseCoopers to recognise and reward the substantial, and often dramatic, achievements at home and abroad of Scottish quoted companies.

The awards are made on the basis of rigorous research by the University of Strathclyde Business School which studies a wide range of evidence and makes recommendations to the judging panel.
