The NOVA-7897 is the industry's first to support PCI-X and offers high throughput and supports a powerful Intel Pentium III Tualatin CPU.

At its core is the Intel Pentium III Tualatin processor.

Operating at 1.26GHz, the server-level processor supports a 133MHz side bus and 512Kbyte Level 2 cache with ECC (error correcting code), packaged in a flip chip array.

The high performance 5.25in disk size embedded board also features dual 10/100Mbit/s LAN controllers, available with optional IP security function, and two expansion socket interfaces to support up to six LANs.

An onboard Broadcom BCM5701 fully integrated 10/100/1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet MAC (media access controller) delivers triple speed IEEE 802.3-compliant MAC performance with deep on-chip buffer memory and a physical layer transceiver to meet the demands of advanced network applications.

In addition, two 168-pin DIMM sockets provide system memory support for up to 512Mbyte.

To meet the requirements of network management applications such as Firewall or for VPN (virtual private network) gateway IP security management, the high end NOVA-7897 supports up to two dual LAN modules providing Internet/Intranet server load balance or a VPN gateway appliance while an SSL accelerator offers advanced web server SSL check performance.
